Gaddafi must go. That was the imperative statement of the USA President concerning the Head of State of another sovereign nation. Libya is an independent county. It is not under USA jurisdiction. It is a member of the United Nations. Under international law it enjoys well-defined and specific rights and privileges. These rights and privileges exist whether President Obama likes them or not. And the nation of Libya deserves to have its national rights respected whether or not Obama likes the national leader. I have written extensively on this topic through this blog so I will not repeat myself here. However, President Obama recently stated that peace in the middle east is crucially important. Yes, I know that Libya is not considered the “middle east’. Nonetheless, I must ask the defining question. Is the winner of the Noble Peace Prize a big enough leader? He can call the ruthless illegal war in Libya to a halt. He can accept the numerous pleas for peace from the legal representatives of Libya. He can stop calling them liars and liars and liars while he secretly agrees to continued massive bombing of Libya by NATO. He can be honest with himself and acknowledge, at least to himself, that this brutal Western aggression is nothing less than a “Resource War” to control Libyan oil. We will just have to wait and see. But we should not forget that he started it and he can end it peacefully. Or he can be a Chicago Mafia Chief and take this recklessly to the very bitter end. Hey, maybe the Mafia motto is his motto, “Listen Gaddafi’s sons and grandsons and Gaddafi himself…”Nothing personal, this is strictly business!” Bang!
Can Obama Change?
