This is a very short article but speaks volumes about the legal government of Libya.  After all, we simply must ask the same question.  Undoubtedly, it is the French and British need for oil.  Hey, the Brits have been stealing things for years.  Go to the London museum and see all the stolen art.  So too, the French, go to the Louvre and see all the stolen art.  It should not surprise us that these colonialist imperialist western powers would use deceit to gain their monetary objectives.  After all, why should desert dwelling brown-skinned Muslim tribes people control one of the biggest oil resources and one of the finest quality resources in Northern Africa?  What should surprise us is the connivance and complicity of the USA under the Obama Administration.

This article is dated from April 8th, 2011.  I wonder why it is still being posted as important news?  I can remember something very similar when GW Bush was President.  Daily in the news sections of the Internet there would be little so-called “news” boxes that would repeat negative analysis or commentary about GW Bush.  It turned out to be a political ploy by the Democrat party and/or those affiliated with the Democrat party in order to discredit President Bush.  Now I see this kind of thing relative to Glenn Beck.  It seems like a smear campaign, or some kind of propaganda in order to discredit the veracity of Glenn Beck.  Sad really?  That the media needs to vilify and demonize certain individuals in order to bolster themselves.  I think politics is not about personality but about principles, programs and projects.  If the three “P” listed are not to someones liking, fine.  However, I see the continued use of this analysis piece to be fraudulent because it purports to be legitimate news while it is really smear.

Does America Really Want to Kill Children?

Twelve days ago, the UN Commissioner for Human Rights condemned the Libyan government’s repeated attacks on civilians and civilian facilities in Misrata and warned that these attacks could be treated as criminal.

“Under international law,” said Commissioner Navi Pillay, “the deliberate targeting of medical facilities is a war crime, and the deliberate targeting or reckless endangerment of civilians may also amount to serious violations of international human rights law or international humanitarian law.”

Commissioner Navi is absolutely right. Under Section II, Article 85, item 3a of the 1977 Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949: “grave breaches of this Protocol” include “making the civilian population or individual civilians the object of attack.”

This protocol, we might say, is precisely what justifies our own actions in the Libyan conflict. Officially, the only reason for which we launched our attacks on Libya, and for which we now support the NATO airstrikes against it, is to protect its civilian population.

Many suspect that NATO is seeking to assassinate Muammar Gaddafi and will not hesitate to kill civilians in pursuing this end. Last night, a NATO airstrike on the Tripoli home of his youngest son, Seif al-Arab Moammar Gaddafi, failed to hit Gaddafi himself but killed Seif along with three of Gaddafi’s grandchildren.

Can anyone explain to me why this NATO airstrike on the house of Seif Gaddafi did not recklessly endanger the lives of his children, or why the children of Seif Gaddafi are not protected by the 1977 Protocol to the Geneva Conventions, let alone by our official “mission” to protect the civilian population of Libya?

I also have another question. How many more Libyan children are we willing to kill?….The article continues on the Huffington Post

USA, France and Britain Lies.

The NATO alliance and the British government are liars.  They said that they wanted to protect civilians and to deliver humanitarian aid.  Well, with USA help they delivered that aid on the point of 212 cruise missiles.  Then they said that they were not taking sides in an armed rebellion against the recognized government of Libya but they bombed Libyan government buildings, they strafed  uniformed Libyan government troops, they destroy well-marked and easily identifiable Libyan military vehicles and tanks, they bombed the home town of Gaddafi trying to break the spirit of his tribal group, they sent advisors to teach the armed rebels how to use modern military equipment supplied to the rebels by “nobody”,  the weapons were of a highly sophisticated nature and costing millions of dollars, but they just appear in the rebels hands by a miracle.  Now they have killed Gaddafi’s son and his grandchildren in a NATO attack on a so-called military target, which the article described as a family site with video games for the grandkids and bedrooms and gathering areas for the family.  I guess the family and the grandchildren and parents are not civilians.  I think that NATO is racist enough to tell us that since they were Gaddafi’s family and grandchildren then they deserved to die!  This whole Libyan adventure is the result of resource poor Britain and resource poor France and Belgium attempting to seize control of the oil in Libya.  The British, Belgian and France Imperialists are helped in the illegal aggression by a compliant USA Obama and a complicit United Nations. ( please read other posts on this site to follow the obvious path of NATO criminal aggression against Libya.)  The killing, as described in this article,  cannot be excused as collateral damage in wartime.  NATO knew the target was civilian in nature, knew that there were other family members there and decided to kill all  of them.  President Obama knew of the missile attack, he knew of the target, he knew of the possible civilian and infant casualties and under the false neutrality of not being personally involved and while yucking it up with his friend and political supporter, Donald  Trump at the comedy dinner, Obama allowed innocent children to be intentionally murdered while he wore a bow tie and told jokes.  And if you claim that President Obama did not know or was not complicit in the attacks than you are wrong.  He could have stopped all of this weeks ago with a nano second of his time, so the fact that this illegal aggression continues and has now degraded into assassination of foreign heads of State is evidence that Obama is schooled in the “Godfather movie” scenarios of Mafia killings.  The moral authority of the USA has been in question since the start of President Obama”s Libyan war.  That moral high ground has steadily degraded as it became evident that the USA was willingly involved in a resource war attempting to seize control of another nation’s oil.  Today’s murder attack erases any moral authority the USA claimed in this war and together with NATO and even the United nations, this war is clearly seen as blatant criminal aggression of the most egregious type, the type that hides behind the skirts of “International law”.  The only salvation for the USA now is for us to lead the way in open, honest peace making with the legal government of Gaddafi.  And if you do not think that all along the government of Libya is legal, then read the parts where the Brits are telling the Ambassador of Libya to leave  England.  And just one last point.  It concerns Senator John Mc Cain.  What a disappointment he is and what a disgrace as he cheers the attempted assassination of  the head of another Nation. It seems that McCain the war hero has become a warmonger.  Sad and disgraceful, not only because of McCain’s heroism but because it indicates that he agrees with President Obama that the USA should be a terrorist nation.

Royal Wedding

I really had forgotten that there was to be a British Royal Wedding.  But arising this morning and turning on the computer, (not the TV) I saw that there was one and I was immediately enthralled.  So, here are a few minor comments:

1.  It was great fun.

2. I am older and have eight, (soon to be nine) grandchildren, so for a few hours I was a grandparent to both Princess Catherine and Prince William, also great fun.

3. Later I looked out upon one of my grandsons who is four and his sister who is two and I thought that they were the most beautiful children in the world (they are) and that they too are a prince and a princess.  Thanks Kate and Wills for sharing your day with this grand dad and helping me to see again that my grandchildren are beautiful. ( Not that I ever forgot, but the wedding made it all that more real.)

4. The wedding made my day.  It was beautiful and exciting and although I did not have a paper invitation, I was invited by means of media and I appreciate their wonderful work at bringing the beautiful wedding to me.  (You know we often blast the media but seldom thank them.  So, at least from this “old man”  here’s a sincere “thank you.”)

5. The couple is young, and it is to them that we entrust the future.  If  Prince William and Princess Catherine are emblematic of that future, then the world is in good hands.  Why? Well my prejudice will show here, it is because of Will’s Father, he is a good father, and his mother Diana, she was a good mother.  It is because of Kate’s mom and dad.  Both sets of parents did a good job. ( Hey, we know the down side, but let’s look at the good.)

6. The Church stood out and shone in the brilliance and the glory which is the Church.  Praise God for the British Monarchy that is willing to stand up and profess that they are Christians and are not ashamed of it.

7. The Bride and groom played their part to perfection.  I feel that this is very important.  They had a role to play.  It was a role dictated by their status and station in the social order.  They accepted the perks and they accepted the responsibility.  BEAUTIFUL.  All too often we see people who want the one without the other.  I believe that the tight adherence to procedure and protocol while applying their youth ( the trees in the Abbey were a beautiful touch) was a very powerful indicator of the model of life to which they adhere and which their wedding advertised.

8. Lastly, it was just plain beautiful.  I feel like I have been to a wedding today and I am happy for them and for their willingness to share it with me.

The comments here and in the posted article by Senator Rand Paul in revealing the truth concerning the Obama administrations “Crony Capitalism” are a major concern for every citizen because it connects oppressive corporate interests secretly with government and uses the force of the federal government to enact laws that pretend to help the average citizen but actually help big business.  Such crony capitalism also uses the government’s military force to achieve economic and political objectives without the express consent of the Congress.  While this may be technically legal, this writer believes that the use of USA military forces must “in every instance” be approved by the Congress with the exception of the immediate defense of the nation in cases of aggression and attack upon the continental USA or its military forces deployed around the globe.

Obama, ” Not Vilify Each Other,…”

There is no problem with protest and free speech.  But like our President has said, we do not need to vilify each other.  Taking President Obama at his word, this site does not vilify anybody.  We do, however, express strong opinions without the name calling and often not too subtle stereotyping.  Therefore, even the inclusion of the word, “dummy” in a response to this blog is not acceptable.  Hey, write your own blog if you don’t think you get enough “time” on other people’s blogs.

Rice, Rumsfeld and McCellan

McCellan wasn’t relevant.  A bit player on a big stage who thought he could steal the show
by tattle telling on his employer.  Hey, wiki leaks is one thing.  But when your boss
trusts you, daily engages with you on serious matters, depends on you for simple courtesy
and some measure of loyalty, that is something.  Even employees of Wendy’s, Macy’s,
McDonalds, Walmart, are asked for that basic honor and manly dignity.  McCellan was a bit
player who did not know, and would not have known under any administration, what a
privilege it is to be in the cabinet.  Can you imagine what President Obama would have
done regarding McCellan’s Judas like nature?  Like Bush, I think that President Obama
would have laughed at the puny little guy with the big ego.

Republicans are Serious About Fixing the Problem.

Paul Ryan is an honest man.  I know that is something strange in a politician.  But I believe that Paul is a serious American who wants the BEST for his country and its people.  Please give the Ryan Plan a serious read.  Give it a chance, because I believe, and I understand that you really don’t care what I believe, but that is the nature of blog posts, Give it a serious hearing and an honest debate.  Harry Reid said that the Ryan Plan was “dead on arrival” in the Senate.  Who the hell does Harry Reid think that he is?  Is he the dictator of the Senate?  Maybe Senate rules allow dictators, but American citizens do not.  We must demand that the Senate allow the Ryan Plan to be fully and fairly debated in the Senate so that WE, yes, you and I can get the potentially best plan out there for the saving of SOcial Security, the saving of Medicare, and the Saving of America.
