What Will Defeat Democrats?

Republicans must unite.  Tonight as I listened to Fox News with Brett Brier, it was obvious that the Republican party Presidential candidates are setting themselves up for defeat in 2012 because of one issue.  It is their refusal to work together in a unified effort to reform Medicare and Medicaid, create jobs and provide security for Seniors.  Each candidate so far interviewed has refused to endorse the Ryan Plan.  Instead, they are each saying that they have their own plan and will be putting forward their plan soon.  The result?  There is one Obamacare and there are being proposed so many potential Republican plans that the voters will decide to accept the Obamacare and reject any and all Republican plans.  The reasoning of the voters is easy, namely, that if you Republicans cannot agree with yourselves than we will just accept Obamacare. As Steve Haynes said on the program, (paraphrased)
” the Republicans must own the Ryan Plan.  They cannot and should not run away from it.  They should get out there across America and explain the plan.”  Charles Krauthheimer  inferred that Eric Cantor and John Boehner should put Ryan in the front, fund his travels and make him the lead for the Republican plan.  In fact, I thought he used the word “candidate”?!

John Edwards Phony Liar

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304520804576345304156346920.html?mod=e2tw&om_rid=NsgG76&om_mid=_BN3V6uB8bYwNvj

This is just a quick note about John Edwards when he was candidate for VP along with John Kerry.  I remember thinking to myself as then US Senator Edwards, arrogantly and viciously attacked his opponent for what Edwards all “…every kind of sleaze, arrogant and lying…”  Well, imagine that?! There is an old saying about “people in glass houses who throw stones at other people in order to smash the other guys windows.”  All I can say is that at the time there were a great many people who supported “honest” John and rallied behind his vicious attacks against his opponents.  What do the revelations about “honest” John tell us about the many people who wholeheartedly agreed with him and applauded his vicious arrogance.

Democrat Use of “Divide and Conquer” Successful

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110525/ap_on_el_ge/us_medicare_stakes

The win by a Democrat of a usually Republican congressional seat in Upstate NY is testimony to the success of using a three party system to divide the electorate and win the vote for the Democrat candidate.

Although the campaign and the media analysis of it casts this win for the Democrats as a referendum on the Federal Republican party’s proposals to cut spending, by revising the Tax code to be sure the everybody must pay at least some federal tax, stimulate job creation by making it easier for the job creators to do business in the USA instead of overseas, curtail mandatory funding for free medicare care while protecting current medicare recipients the issue in the Rodchester-Buffalo district was actually decided by the entrance of a third-party candidate.  Jack Davis, was allowed onto the ballot by the election committee  as a so-called Tea Party Candidate.

Firstly, let’s address the issue of,  “Is there such a thing a the Tea Party Political party?”  This writer would say there is no such political party.   Allowing a third-party candidate into this election based upon the concept that the Tea Party populist movement is a political party is false.  It is not even a loosely confederated organization.  The Tea Party movement is instead, a very loosely affiliated group of patriotic American citizens who are demonstrating for limited and more responsive governance by Washington.

Secondly, if the election boards are going to allow a third-party candidate to run under the label of  a Tea Party Political party then such a defined and incorporated individual political party such be required to register itself as such in each State of the USA.  Otherwise, the electorate is given false advertising that they are supporting and voting for something called the Tea Party Political Party when such an organization does not exist.

The new Democrat Jane Hochul’s position that she wants to cut government spending but the Republicans want to cut Medicare in order to pay for tax cuts to millionaires is really a shameful use of fear, misinformation, lies and class warfare to gain personal political advantage and a two-year job for herself in Washington.

Let’s take the linkage issues apart.  The only legitimate proposal by the Republicans at the Federal level is the one proposed by Representative Paul Ryan.  It does overhaul and reform the current medicare system intending to protect current recipients 55 years old and over by putting the current system on actual financial foundations and not basing its funding on IOU’s taken from our children.  To say that the purpose or even the unintended result of the reform is to give tax breaks to millionaires is a lie.  (It may be a lie that over  55-year-old unemployed workers believed to true, but then shame on their ignorance and shame on those who won the race with old-fashioned political dung.)

The use of the class warfare issue is a standard dirty tactic lie by Democrats, very many of whom are multi millionaires or soon become multi millionaires as soon as they gain political office. The writer of this blog opposes setting one economic group of American citizens at war against another economic group of Americans.  Also, ample proof has been published showing that citizens who make millions of dollars yearly are paying for at least 80 % of the Federal government expenses.  Since the millionaires are the top five percent of the population, 95 percent of us pay for the remaining 20% of the expenditures.

All of the above being true, I still believe the use of the third-party candidate was the ingredient for winning.  It allowed conservative Republicans to vote for a non Democrat because they were frightened into worrying about their personal healthcare.  And the Tea Party banner, although not actually a viable political party,  allowed scared older Americans to fool themselves into believing that they still supported the Republicans while knowingly handing the victory to the Democrat.

The use of this third-party ploy was used by Perot against Bush 41.  It was the cause for the pre-emptive strike against Huckabee by a phony Donald Trump candidacy.  I believe another off-year NY congressional election used the same?  Anyone remember the details? Was it Gillibrand?  And now, it has succeeded in the Rodchester-Buffalo fiasco.  Look for more of the same.

Silent Churches?

Amazing that the major Christian denominations are silent as the Obama Administration bombs the government and the people of Libya into submission.  I will no longer say that the USA is doing this because although there IS finally a resolution in the Senate to legitimate the Obama aggression, its proponents are the war monger John Mc Cain, and the swift boat navy guy, Kerry!  Besides the Obama administration said today that it is talking to the Congress about its use of military personnel for war in Libya but that it DOES NOT NEED NOR SEEK their approval.  All beside the point of this blog.  I am amazed at the USA and world Christian community’s silence about this blatant “Resource War” of the Western Imperialist nations of Britain, France and Belgium,–backed by USA and silently assented to by Russia, (shame on Putin for cowardly acquiescence to this Western Imperialism. I guess Russia is now  another of the capitalist nations. ) Anyway, the Arab Muslim communities are also silent as the NATO military alliance bombs this Arab Muslim nation into oblivion.  The rebels ae not civilians, they are armed and dangerous.  They are rebels and in any of the NATO counties such persons seeking to forcefully overthrow their government would be arrested.  Obviously the Libyan government would do the same but the rebellion is fostered, promoted, armed, trained and protected by NATO and as is well-known, the combined forces of NATO are fully condoned and supported by Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama.  (By the way, what is the tax bill for this undeclared and illegal war?) Not to let any of the others religions off the hook, because the Dalai Lama, the Grand Rabbinic Societies, the Shinto reps, the Confucians, the Hindus, Wicca, and the whole Green movement are also silent.  The only voice that has spoken out against the war and pleaded for peace, is the voice of Pope Benedict XVI of the Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican State.

Joe the Plumber and Rodney King for President.

This is a serendipity entry.  But I was thinking these thoughts, so I decided to share them.  We all remember these two guys, Rodney and Joe.  What ever happened to them when they no longer served the media interest? Rodney was beaten by the cops and his famous statement was, “…Can’t we all just get along?”  A worthy sentiment and one which I have considered often.  Rodney is not a Poet nor the son of a Poet, but his words ring true today as much as they did as he lay stricken and smitten on the pavement of that city.  Joe was a celebrity for a while because the conservatives found him a darling until , well until what?  Actually, I can only remember that he was an unemployed plumber who spoke candidly to candidate Barrrack Obama.  Where is he now?

Actually, like the media at the time, I too, am using them as symbols of something greater than themselves.  The symbol, I will pose in a question.  “Is it necessary for someone to raise one billion dollars in order to become the President of the USA?”

I do not mean that Joe or Rodney have the “right stuff” (whatever that is) in order to be President.  But I do mean to ask the question, “Are the American people smart enough to elect one of their own to be President?”  I infer by this that  all of our Presidents, let’s say from Franklin Roosevelt to Barrack Obama have been “groomed” to be President.  But I do not think that those who did the grooming were “ordinary citizens who went to work for a living, raised a family and attended the local church.”  Rather, they were and still are, the “big” people at corporate headquarters, or media headquarters, or news headquarters.  The pickers and the groomers of our Presidential candidates are the “big boys.  Yes, I do think that they are mostly men, although today there is a smattering of women.”

So what about the Joes and the Rodneys?  They are you.  They are us.  And they will never be President.  But there is one thing.  OUR VOTE.  At least for now, our elections are honest.  Therefore, the “would be’s” need us.  Can they count on you no matter what?  Are you a Teachers Union member or an AFL CIO member who the Democrats consider “safe”?  Are you black and therefore since 95% of you voted for Obama in 2008, the President considers you “safe.”  Are you a far left Liberal who supports Maoist political philosophy and quasi Communist social policy?  You too are taken for granted by the Incumbent.

But that still leaves the rest of us.  The pundits like to call us the “Independents.”  But they are wrong.  Most of us are either Democrats or Republicans, although we may not be declared.  Our difference from the safe people is that we actually do listen, we actually do ponder the various positions and we actually do have a personal political philosophy that is not defined by the Union, or the University, or the current political effete.

As we enter the presidential race, are we up to the task?  Will the independent Republicans allow themselves to be stereotyped and ghettoized by the libelous label of “tea baggers”? Will the independent thinking Democrats allow themselves to be taken for granted and goaded into a “plague on both houses” attitude which allows them to mechanically pull the lever for the President?  It all waits to be seen.  But can you imagine a real dark horse, who has a good heart and a good mind and a good soul and who has the innate ability to use the apparatus of government in order to make the right decisons?  Could such a one ever be President.  Many will answer,”No.”  But in fact, it is possible, because America is for now, a free land and the people really do decide.  So, let’s see what happens.  Maybe it IS the only thing that we can do.

Paul Ryan for President -But.

From the very first day I encountered Congressman Paul Ryan on TV I thought that he was definitely Presidential material.  Ever since, my estimation has grown stronger and deeper.  Representative Ryan is a leader that America needs.  I have written extensively in the previous posts to this article, so I will not repeat the reasons for my wholehearted endorsement.  However, I will add a warning.  Mr. Paul Ryan is not seeking the presidency and as the article cited stated, in my opinion, he will have to be dragged by an insistent public into the contest for President.  Why?  Because Congressman Ryan is a breed of steadfast Americans who regards public office as a privilege.  He serves at the will of the voters of his district and his loyalty to them and his deep respect for them as fellow citizens has sent him back to Congress term after term.  Yes, there are many congressman who are good but I believe that Representative Ryan has shown himself to be a notch above.  How?  Firstly, he is willing to listen to the needs, opinions and political philosophy of his constituents.  He may be a Republican but he considers himself a Congressman.  (Not the same as a Scott Brown Republican who puts Scott Brown in front of Republican.  Although I DO believe that Senator Brown is a good man and is representing Massachusetts very well.) Paul Ryan does not hedge on his political philosophy, his world view, his creeds or his values.  He holds them dear and fast.  But he holds them personally as the North Star navigating his life.  He may try to present his view to others but in no way does Paul Ryan believe that his way is the only way. (Unlike Obama who thinks of his political philosophy and methods of governing as the only TRUE way. Which Obama believes is apparent to all who are of the truth!!)  The rest of us are still clinging to our guns and our religion and believing in our police who act foolishly when they try to defend a citizen.

There is a lot more I will be saying in the coming months. However, in the title I intentionally placed the word “but”.  I did that because there is no way that a Congressman who is not seeking the Presidency for his own glory can effectively compete against a glory seeking incumbent President unless we who support Paul are there for him every painful inch of the way.  Obama says that he can raise one billion dollars (an obscene figure) to keep himself in the oval office.  Can we promise to Paul Ryan that we will do everything, and that includes our own money, to help him meet that challenge?  Obama has already shown how he can use tax payer dollars to fly himself around on Air Force One so he can campaign and raise money.  He was in NJ five times last year and this year twice in NYC.  Can we give Paul Ryan the logistical support he needs?  By logistical support I primarily refer to getting out the crowds to see him, “press the flesh” and listen to his message.  Obama does not need to pay for his daily exposure on TV.  All he needs to do is talk and he will have five minutes on every news program several times a day, plus front page photos of himself in every national and local newspaper plus extensive Internet blogging.  How are we going to help Congressman Ryan fight against that kind of automatic publicity?  Will even Fox new and the venerable Mr. Bill O Reilly promise that every minute given to Obama’s publicity will be equalled with coverage of Paul Ryan’s speech or stop over in (let’s say) Great Falls?

Paul Ryan is a man for American.  He loves America and he respects its people.  He will not bow to Saudi Kings and Japanese Emperors, (not matter what the ettique is).  He will act in the office of President with deep American values, a strong work ethic, a driving effort to set us on a financial foundation that will guarantee for current and for future seniors that the promise of a socially secure American will not be spent away during his Presidency.  But will he let us elect him?  That’s a big question.

Dems try the Divide and Conquer Ploy.

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/JackDavis-teaparty-Boehner-JaneCorwin/2011/05/17/id/396738

The Republican party is a small party which is being made smaller by the independence of the Tea Party Movement.  Many of the Congressmen and a few Senators won their election by getting backing from members of the Tea Party Movement.  Now we read that this fellow Davis is able to have a “Line” at the ballot for the Tea Party.  Now, this writer does not know how he can get that since there is no political party called the Tea Party?!  What this trio seems to be is a classic political ploy by Democrats to divide the electorate and thereby guarantee the election of the Democrat.  In such a situation the voter’s of this heavily Republican area are either going to allow themselves to be fools by his cynical ploy and thereby revealing their foolishness or they will reject Davis and deal with the two legitimate candidates on the issues.  And the guy who indulged himself in silly affairs, well,  he was just a plain idiot.  But it is sad when leaders, like him and this IMF guy, think that they can have private lives while serving in a public position.  One of the perks of public jobs is that you are not allowed such a luxury.  Too bad that people who want to be private go public.  There must be others who can do a better job.  By the way, does anyone share my thought that Trump was a Democrat phony who took to the stage in order to dump Huckabee.  I find it absolutely unbelievable that Obama showed his Birth Certificate because Donald Trump (ARE YOU KIDDING) demanded it!!  I find it equally disturbing that Trump left the race for President as soon as he was sure that Huckabee was out?  It is all too staged for me.  It happened before with Ross Perrot and GHW Bush (41). Sad for America that this sort of thing is becoming the norm.

Obama on Obama

Limbaugh On Gingrich

http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/rushlimbaugh-newtgingrich/2011/05/16/id/396556?s=al&promo_code=C460-1

Newt Gingrich speaks his mind.  There is a sense of sincere integrity when he talks to a topic.  It is often professorial and therefore intends to inform and be informed.  Good teachers, and I think that Speaker Gingrich is a good teacher intend to have an exchange of ideas concerning the topic at hand.  I think that is what Newt does and in a perfect world of reasonable people he would get a fair exchange of reason based discussion on any given topic.  However, in the world of politics, a professorial approach is quickly turned into a “them and us” approach.  Politics in the USA, at least under this Democrat administration, is not about finding the best way for America to govern itself.  Instead, as with ObamaCare, it is Obama’s way only.  All fair-minded Americans and I believe Speaker Gingrich to be fair minded, are required by Obama and his regime to first enact into law the Obama agenda BEFORE there can be civil discussion about the meaning and purpose of the Obama agenda.  So, it is not unexpected that when Newt Gingrich is consistent with his 1993 position on healthcare insurance, people react with surprise and dismay.  They are surprised because it is rare that a political figure is honest and honestly seeking discussion as to what is best for America and its self-government.  They are dismayed because they conclude that such honesty will be rewarded with the standard political answers of stereotyping, labeling and name calling.  In this blog May 16th, I called for Representative Paul Ryan to be drafted by the Republican party as its Presidential candidate in 2012.  That was my feeling before Huckabee and Trump decided not to run.  That is still my opinion, because Representative Ryan has the “right stuff” for America.  What is the “right stuff”?  Simply put, Representative Ryan loves America.  Yes, “loves” is the word.  He has the highest possible regard for the USA, its people, military, firefighters, and police.  He serves honorably in the federal structure but he has a strong and healthy respect for the state and local governments. He is a man of ideas without being an ideologue.  We have an ideologue in the White House now, and as is true of ideologues, Obama regards his own positions and agendas as the only TRUTH which must be enacted and enforced. Newt Gingrich is good for America.  His intellect is highly regarded because he is an intellectual.   His ideas for America are well thought out and consequential, although they may not be perfect.  His perception of what needs fixing and what can remain is usually accurate, and his willingness to stand up and therefore stand out in the public square is a tribute to his conviction that American is a nation of ideas.  In previous elections the citizens were presented with the idea that the Candidate’s “vision” for what America should be was most important.  That “vision” concept was okay as long as the holder believed wholeheartedly in the country he sought to lead.  Sadly, we learned from 2008, that the candidate we elected does not even like the America he inherited, (and not just the Bush years), that President Obama feels that the USA is fundamentally flawed, unfair, racist and in need of fundamental transformation.  Many today now understand that the change was not from Republican to Democrat, nor from GW Bush to BH Obama but a change of regard for America.  Now we understand that President Obama is not merely polite when he bows to sheiks and kings and emperors.  He sincerely believes that America should bow to others.  He sees us not as a “shining beacon of freedom” but merely as one of many nations, all of which are equally qualified to lead the world!  And now that we understand that a “vision” can be the wrong vision, we are confronted with different criteria for Presidents.  The primary criterion of 2012 will be honesty.  Is the Candidate telling us the truth?  Or does the advertisement mask a different reality?  Is the glib speech of the President merely a carnival trick to entertain us while the truth is hidden behind the curtain?  This writer believes that Newt Gingrich and Paul Ryan can be believed.  So, as citizens we can be confident that what they tell us is their idea accurately reflects their intention.  Now we will need to encourage them to lay out the details, (Ryan already has) and explain the meaning and implications of what they propose.

Hilary Cough?

It would have been better for Hilary to say what we all think, namely, that she was watching the invasion of a home and the killing of people LIVE…no sympathy for Osama but can we all at least be honest to say that watching the actual killing of another person is a stressful even a horrific event?
