Tell Iraq where to shove it.

As a soldier (COL) retired who served four years in support of Iraqi freedom (stateside) I find this article appalling and a desecration to the memories of thousands of US war dead and an insult to the thousands more injured and maimed in defending the Iraqi people against themselves, their fanatical Jihadists, their human bomb terrorists and their violent culture.  Instead, we demand that the Iraqi government immediately disavow this article, publically criticize those who made it and apologize to the American people for such insensitivity.

About Senator Scott Brown

Sad story and I am sorry for him and now that (for whatever reason) he has gone public, I am sorry for his family. Look, I am a Republican and I just don’t see what his abuse has to do with anything or anyone, other than himself. Now, let me say. I was not abused. But I was disciplined. I was not abused but I witnessed domestic fighting and hollering and even physical pushing and knocking around. I was not abused but I witnessed the use of the strap and it was not pretty. I was not abused but I saw the destructive efforts of alcohol. So I must ask the question, why does someone go public with their very sad and horrific story of abuse? I really am confused. Look, we know it happens. We know it is bad. We have plenty of educational material and social service, religious and governmental agencies to address it. And let me be very clear, I do not believe it should ever be in the closet. None the less, what’s the point for Senator Scott Brown to make these revelations, now? I don’t understand. It seemed like he had handled it all. It seemed like he was a well adjusted individual who had coped with the problems of his life, come out on top and moved on. Now we see it differently. And Yes, I am sorry for him and as I said, for his family. But what’s the point? Are we supposed to take his example as our example and all rush out and confess and lament about all of the various forms of difficulty we survived as children. Hell, I could do that. But I am not a Senator and I just don’t see the point. I mean there is a trace of self centeredness in public officials revelations of their childhood trauma. So, what? I really don’t know what to make of this?! I am sorry for him, but although some would say he was courageous to “out” this private and personal information, I do not call that courage. Yes, if he privately told his wife. And Yes, if he prepared and warned his children. But to go to the public media and tell your story. What’s the point?

Can we Long Wait for a New Election? Maybe not!

America is a democratic republic and we are people of law.  We act in an orderly fashion because of our constitutional government.  But the wait for correction of an errant government, especially of a President who does not like the people he “rules”- well the wait is onerous and burdensome.  Yes, we threw off the yoke of Nancy Pelosi but she is still there.  And Harry Reid is still carping his brand of power politics (the people be damned) in the Senate.  Now, we have this so called “budget” which increases taxes, increases spending and doubles the size of government.  All of this while the President claims that the budget is austere, a downsizing and fiscally responsible!  But the facts remain: There are fifteen tax hikes in the bill.  All of this in spite of a projection that the national debt now equals the national income.  That means that every dollar we produce is immediately paid to our creditors, namely the Chinese and I think the French and the Germans are in there too, salivating over our demise and the day when they will own us and we will work for them.  Maybe there is a lesson from Egypt.  Maybe we do not need to wait.  Maybe we need to take to the streets and peacefully protest against our President and his Senate Democrat cronies.  Hey!  it only took them 20 days.  Do you think we too can do it?  It may just be worth the inconvenience?!

Does Obama Love America?

One question keeps repeating itself.  Does Barack Obama love America?  It seems that all we hear is Mr. Obama criticizing America.  He has said that we eat too much, that we are fat and that it is his job and that of his wife to regulate what we are allowed to choose to eat!

He has said that our police are acting foolishly when we help black college professors protect their homes and then arrest the professor when he verbally assaults the officers who are helping him.

He has said that we love to cling to our guns and our religion.  This reference to Pennsylvania citizens categorized them as backward, non thinking reactionaries who are ignorant, refuse to listen to “reason” and who prefer guns and Christianity to Washingtonian liberalism.

He has said that the legally elected Republican officials of the Congress can go along for the ride but they will need to stay in the back of the bus.  This reference to Republican Representatives and Senators was before the 2010 election.  In that election the citizens of America sent the Obama toadies back home and elected Republicans who promised to listen to their constituents and do what the people said that the people wanted.

He referred to the Republican congress people as the enemy.  He said that the voters should regard all non democrats as enemies and treat them as such.  This very devisive comment deepened and strengthened the antagonism of those who hate other people.

After refusing to participate in the National Day of Prayer and stating that such participation on his part would be a wrongful action of a non partisan US government official, he goes this year and gives an overt display of religious conviction.  One cannot but help wonder why last year it was wrong to be publically a Christian but this year it is okay!

He bows to a Saudi king and the Son of a Japanese Emperor.  While claiming this was only good manners, one can only wonder what a US President is thinking when he profoundly bows before a feudal Saudi king and deeply bows before the son of a former war time enemy.  Strange that he and Mrs. Obama should merely hug the Queen of England!

He shares books with Hugo Chavez but denounces Hosni Mubarak.  Is Hugo a democratic leader or a dictator?  Why is Hugo okay but Hosni is not okay?

The list could go on and on.  However, the point is clear.  The President of the United States of America does not love the nation of which is he the elected leader.  He scolds Americans, criticizes Americans and hold citizens in contempt.

In the next election the citizens should send him into retirement.

Why Is the Obama Admin. refusing to work with the Republicans?

Regarding the judgement by a federal judge in Florida! Is the full decision of the judge available on the Internet? It seems like the media is trying to sway opinion by using one analogy concerning food and thereby highlighting only one of many examples used by the Judge. Although I think the coverage is relatively fair, it’s bias is to cast the ruling as something lighthearted, light weight and not to be taken seriously. However, Mark Levin read quotes from the last ten pages of the ruling that cast it as a very weighty ruling that declares the law to be IN FACT unconstitutional and therefore, by the internal logic of the ruling the government is told to stop the implementation of the law until the Supreme Court decides. However, the article says that the Obama Justice Department tells the government and orders(?) the States to proceed with the full inmplementation of the law. So, we need clarity and more thorough reporting of WHAT the Federal judge actually said and not just the Brocoli illustration and we need to know why the Obama Administration holds the Court in contempt by going full speed ahead and ordering the States to do the same. Politics aside, the law has already been repealed by one house of the Congress and predictably ignored by the Senate on a procedure vote. It was found unconstitutional by two Federal judges and okayed by another two. What’s the rush to implementation? I thought we were a nation of laws and that the Feds had to obey the court’s in questions of contitutionality? When the States disobeyed the courts in the Civil rights era the Feds called out the troops, as they should have. Now when things go against Obama, he chooses to ignore the court, hold it in contempt and go full speed ahead. Wait, let the congress and the Supreme Court decide before we march straight into a situation of health care chaos. Really, the best, easiest and most effecective way is to repeal this very flawed law, NOW and to work seriously and in a truly bi partisan way to enact the needed reforms. Must the democrats continue to be the party of self reighteousness and refuse to work with the Republicans? The only losers are the people.
