Peace in Libya Possible

It will take courage for the Obama Administration to admit error.  This writer does not think that the President has it in him.  But there is always hope.

The war in Libya can be stopped.  How?  Obama just needs to order it to be stopped.  It really is that simple.  Since the US Congress has been diverted onto the Budget issues, Obama has been given a pass on the illegality of the continued war, and he has been given a free hand in continuing the war.  That is really bad, and a shame.  But there is a war and we need to face it.  Secondly, a lot of innocent civilians ARE being killed by NATO and USA aggression.  Thirdly, a lot of loyal Libyan government troops are being slaughtered by A-10 American anti personnel Gattling guns.  Fourthly, enormous destruction of the buildings, infrastructure and operational government of Libya has been caused by “sightless” bombing of NATO and USA.  Come on folks!  We all know that humanitarian aid is not delivered by Cruise missiles.

The French and The British tried to fool the USA into thinking that Libya was in a state of civil war against Gaddafi.  They further tried to topple the Libyan government by using the ruse of humanitarian support for beleaguered civilians.  The early days of UN sanctioned support have given way to lesser USA support and a worldwide rejection of the British and French lies.  The Libyan people were not in general uprising against their government.  The rebel army was a motley crew of ragtag insurrectionists, disgruntled former army officers, and Al Qaida operatives. The Libya government was not crumbling under the leadership of a maniacal dictator and the army of Libya remained loyal to the government.  Therefore, the Brits and the French want to INCREASE ground attacks against Libyan Army personnel and equipment in order thereby to topple the government, cripple Libyan domestic organization, create general hardship and disruption of security and to install an unknown, untried, and disorganized array of anti Gaddafi leaders, all of whom had previously fled the nation and were living comfortably in France and Britain while the good people of Libya tried to cooperate with the government and through processes of consistent and loyal opposition to the regime gain concessions and internal improvements to the lives of the ordinary Libyan citizen.  These efforts were recognized by both the Bush (43) and Obama administrations who sent high level diplomats to Tripoli and by a process of identifying past wrongs, (Lockerbie) the payment and the acceptance of the money payments as restitution for Lockerbie, and pledges of greater cooperation with the West and promises of increased democratic freedoms in Libya, they achieved significant progress toward promises of  measured democratic freedom in Libya. Now, by a process of criminal aggression, the Western European Nations, backed by a naive and inexperienced President, have destroyed not only all improvement, but because of their own diabolical attempt at a new capitalist colonial imperialism in Libya, have ignited fears throughout the region that they will attack other nations and destroy them as well.  President Obama is right to stay in a support role and should be bolder.  He should withdraw support for attacks against Libyan government forces because it is obvious that the general population is not in rebellion against the government.  Secondly, President Obama should respond through formal diplomatic channels to the Libyan government. He should assure them of  public and formal and not back channel diplomatic engagement.   Thirdly, the President should repudiate the “Gaddafi must go” statement and give assurances that the USA is not a party to regime change imposed by aggressive former colonial and imperialist nations. The USA should show sincerity by the  withdrawal of all special forces personnel, trainers of the rebels, secret CIA agents, and clandestine USA fighters from Libya.  Fourthly, embassy should be made to the Tripoli government with promises that build on the three points above, to include money payments by US oil interests for the rebuilding of the destroyed security and infrastructure of Libya in return for free and fair access to Libyan oil deposits.  In return, the Libyan government will agree to a gradual, guaranteed, long term process of democratization of Libya in cooperation with USA ambassadorial presence. The future efforts will be overseen by joint commissions of Libyan government and American diplomatic personnel.  This bold and courageous action by the Obama administration is imperative, if we are to stop being international terrorists ourselves.

UN Refers to Gaddafi as “Government”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110418/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_libya

The above article is a simple and clear indication that the Western powers are liars and the UN is also duplicitous.  The article clearly states that the negotiations over humanitarian aid were with the Libyan “Government”.  That means the legitimate government ( dictatorship or otherwise) of the sovereign Nation of Libya.  As stated in this blog repeatedly, the UN was duped by the Obama administration and the Obama Administration was duped by the French colonialists and the British Imperialists.  The illegal criminal aggression against Libya should be halted immediately.  The rebel army officers and other disgruntled individuals should be told that they are on their own and arrangement made with the Gaddafi government for a restoration of peace and international harmony.  In fact, I outlined these procedures in another article.  Today I would add that because the NATO forces attacked the legal army, navy and air forces of Libya, they should be charged with war crimes at the Hague based on the Geneva conventions and the Nuremberg trials of WWII. If that will not be done, then the NATO countries, especially France and England should be charged for the carnage and forced to pay a whopping sum of money to the Libyan people to be administered by the Libyan government under UN oversight.  The people of Libya have suffered terribly because of the stupid war started by Sarkosy, Cameron, and Obama.

NATO Claim Indicates Error.

True World Aggressors Revealed

http://www.news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_libya
This article gives further proof that Britain and France are the true aggressors now that the USA has stopped its criminal bombing of Libya. Let the French and Brits get out from under the cover of NATO, then declare war on Libya as that is the legal way to invade another nation. And let them suffer the disapproval of the world for their criminal warmongering.

NATO Aggression Against Libya A Crime.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110409/wl_nm/us_libya_nato;_ylt=AvPatV15zKToDiYLRO7GwpSoOrgF;_ylu=X3oDMTJydnVrYjk0BGFzc2V0A25tLzIwMTEwNDA5L3VzX2xpYnlhX25hdG8EY2NvZGUDZ21wZQRjcG9zAzUEcG9zAzUEc2VjA3luX3RvcF9zdG9yaWVzBHNsawNuYXRvc2F5c2Rlc3Q-

The NATO forces are brutal aggressors against the Government of Libya.  The blatant attacks against the tanks and army of the central government of Libya are criminal aggression as defined by the international Geneva Convention. The Geneva Conventions were agreed to after WWII and clearly state that the armed forces of one nation which attack the armed forces of another nation without a Declaration of War are Criminal Aggressors.  The Nuremberg Trials that convicted the Nazi and the Fascists after WWII clearly state that Criminal aggression is a War Crime.  No NATO nation was attacked by Libyan government forces.  No embassy of a NATO country was attacked.  So the attacks on Libyan government tanks, personnel carriers, and ground forces are an unprovoked attack of a terrorist nature.  Additionally the Law of War which is the legal manual used by USA forces concerning the legality of offensive actions, states that it is legally wrong to violate the legal borders of a sovereign State without provocation.  The Arab nations and the world have good reason to decry and denounce the French, English and Belgium forces that are carrying out these attacks.  Remember that all three countries have a dark history of colonial imperialism and especially France and Belgium have a history of rapine murder and slaughter of civilians in Africa.  By their own statements and policy the NATO forces are siding with a rebellion against the Libyan central government.  This makes the NATO forces provocateurs, partisans, and terrorists.  Write your congress person to demand a stop to this war of criminal aggression in Libya.  No one can claim that humanitarian aid is being delivered by bombs, Gatling guns, missiles and the like.  These things are only deliver death and destruction.

Can Obama Grow Up?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_us_libya

President Obama needs to grow up into the national and international leader that the USA needs.  So far the President has played the blame Bush game.  A game which is childish at the core and essentially a cry baby approach to government.  Connected with this has been the victim game.  The President is always crying that it ain’t his fault.  It’s those nasty other guys.  All too often the Obama scolds America about a wide range of things, essentially saying that America is not worthy of him.  If he isn’t scolding us he is apologizing for us to the world.  He started this apologizing even before he was elected and has continued it as he bowed to the feudal Saudi king and the Japanese Emperor.  Now instead of wagging his finger at us, he is lecturing us about being adult as we face the trillions of dollars of debt he has foisted upon us.  Of course, it could not be his fault, he inherited all of the problems! Well fine, if you want to accept his excuse, but all he is doing is making matters worse.  Like war in Libya.  It is very disturbing to see the USA join with imperialist England (look at their so-called British empire!) and colonialist France, their colonial period was even uglier, and also with Belgium, whose King Leopold was the butcher of the Congo, killing hundreds of thousands of Africans and enslaving the rest. Together with these NATO allies we attack and decimate a north Africa Arab Muslim nation of only 5.5 million.  Our rockets, bombs, and Gattling gunned A-10 anti-personnel planes  (capable of killing about 1000 people a minute) are viciously arrayed against the army of the government of Libya.  I guess that since they soldiers are pro Gaddafi it’s okay to slaughter them.  Oh, and by the way, for a nation to wage war against another nation without a declaration of war is considered by the Law of War to be criminal aggression.  That applies as well to Iraq and Afghanistan.  But you say, the UN okayed it with that cowardly phrase that the USA could use all means necessary (who defines necessary?) to protect civilians.  Yes, but siding with the rebels against the government and assisting them in their war against the government makes us Partisans.  Did you know that the Law of War allows Partisans to be summarily executed if captured?  Gaddafi sent the President a letter which it seems is treated as a joke by Obama.  However, we have dealt with Gaddafi as a legal head of State as late as two months ago.  The letter was delivered through diplomatic channels and was accepted by the USA government at the hands of an embassy from Gaddafi.  These actions translate into continued recognition of the Gaddafi Government as the legal representatives of Libya.  The mature, adult, and internationally recognized response to accepting such a missive is for the head of State who read the letter to respond in exactly the same manner, namely a diplomatic letter responding to Gaddafi and delivered through diplomatic channels by an embassy to Libya.  Hey, those are the rules for responsible adult citizenship in the world of international diplomacy, (I don’t make the rules) and it is infantile for the Obama Government to embarrass the nation by acting cavalier in this matter.  If you give no respect then you get no respect.  And it does us no good to dismiss an Arab leader, no matter how we dislike him.  Such a dismissal can rightly be understood as an arrogant disrespect for Arab Muslim leaders in general.  So grow up President Obama, get with internationally recognized norms and become the adult leader that the people of the USA need for times such as these.

Ivory Coast Mass Murders but only Words from USA.

http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1101333.htm

The USA Administration of Barrack Obama still engages in the brutal attacking of the Libyan government armed forces but give only words to Ivory Coast Mass murders.  This writer does not suggest the USA intervene with boots on the ground in Ivory Coast and not in Libya.  It is my position that the foreign policy of the USA is bigotry against Libya and tolerant toward other dictators who are much worse.  Admittedly, Gaddafi said things like “I will have no mercy” but we do need to remember two things, one was that he faced an armed rebellion whose goal was to kill him and his supporters and the Libyan army. Secondly, like Saddam Hussein before him who claimed to be ready to launch the “Mother of all battles” the Arabs are known to exaggerate reality.  The Daily Beast has an excellent expose’ of the nefarious reasons why the French President wanted to invade Libya.  It should be must reading as to why we do not want to continue killing Gaddafi people anymore.

Let’s Help Obama Get Out Of Libya

Get out of Libya.  That is what Secretary of Defense Gates  meant when he addressed the Congressional committee.  Let’s face it, Obama made a mistake and he should be big enough and bold enough to realize it, confess it but above all, he needs to get out of Libya.  We can all help in this.  Our President is very inexperienced and naive about most things and especially about international affairs.  In the case of Libya he made a very big mistake and when the election comes he will be judged, but in the meantime, he is the President and has committed our forces to pursue the wrong policy and engage in the wrong war.  Libya is minimally a rebellion of dissent former army officers and maximally a civil war.  In both cases, the USA has nothing to do with it.  This is even more true when we consider our lack of involvement in the  Ivory Coast where there are thousands of genocidal deaths.  In Libya almost none and definitely none genocidal.  So, what to do?  We need to cut the President some slack, and for now let him off the hook he so foolishly got all Americans onto when he arrogantly pronounced that Gaddafi must go. The President must totally disengage from Libya immediately.  This course of action is in our national self interest.  Additionally, we can encourage Obama to take diplomatic initiatives to impress upon Gaddafi our help if he takes immediate actions to democratize his government.  President Obama’s ideological doggedness should not involve our nation in pursuit of the wrong cause for the wrong reasons no matter how nice a guy we think our smiling President to be.  Rather, in the use of lethal force, we need to encourage our President to stop immediately his ill advised foray into an adventure which is really a third war.
