Obama Administration Always Fast to Point Finger

http://news.yahoo.com/gdp-reminder-congress-address-spending-white-house-150028918–business.html

“Today’s report is a reminder of the importance of the need for Congress to act to avoid self-inflicted wounds to the economy,” said Krueger in a blog post shortly after the release of new government data on gross domestic product.

Amazing that the White House and those sympathetic are fast as lightning to point the finger of accusation against the Congress.  Every time there is any bad news, the President or one of his advisors immediately diverts attention away from the White House and toward the Congress.  This is so very convenient for them and easy to do.  There are only a few of them at the White House while there are 100 Senators and 495 Representatives.  Easy for the few at the White House to quickly accuse while the 595 Congress people are always hesitant to speak for any other Representatives.  The result is the impressive myth that the White House pronouncements speak for the whole Government and not merely the executive branch. However, any member of the House or the Senate who accused would be considered speaking only for him or her self.

Is this an unfair advantage?  Yes, it is.  However, it can be argued that is the nature of politics.  So be it.  However, the news reporters can be un biased and represent the facts clearly.  Instead they abet the myth that Obama speaks for the whole government while the Congress people speak only for themselves.

Obama Intends to Disobey Court Order

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/white-house-rejects-nlrb-ruling-recess-appointments-unconcerned-202214680–politics.html

The President’s statement of rejection harkens back to a Supreme Court ruling regarding the Cherokee Indian nation whereby President Andrew Jackson expressly disobeyed the court, displaced the native american indians and sent them to the concentration camps, also know as Indian reservations.  This has been a national disgrace and cause for great national mourning until this day.  President Obama can simply ignore the Federal Circuit Court and go forward and it would be up to the House of Representatives to introduce a bill of impeachment because of Obama’s actions.  This bill of impeachment, which is an indictment or accusation, would be sent to the Senate for the trial of the President for usurpation of power and illegal action by abrogation of power not granted to him by the Constitution.

How Did Harry Reid Get Rich?

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/314025/how-did-harry-reid-get-rich-betsy-woodruff

I got this in my Email.  I find it a thoughtful article because very few people write about Senator Harry Reid.

A fast take on this article in light of our politics today, how do our politicians make so much money while working?  Do they not work hard enough?  Maybe we need to insist that they attend the sessions of Congress which CSpan shows far too few attend.

Obama’s Parenting is not the Issue

http://news.yahoo.com/obama-blames-gop-failure-hit-d-c-social-140554699.html Obama makes a statement during this interview that he is a father and a parent and that his obligation to his family keeps him away from the “…Washington social scene.”  This is absurd. The WH is one big party after another starting with the big fantasy party for the Hollywood actors which he kept hidden for fear of public criticism.  Obama is the golfing, basketball, party, vacation, President.  So, in this writers opinion, such a claim by the President is just plain silly.

However, the bigger issue is President Obama’s continued refusal to see his own, “I will veto it.” stance as the problem.  Again and Again, the President says that he will not sign any legislation that does not give him exactly what he wants.  He has also repeatedly refused to implement legislation that he does not like and retards progress on other programs that would employ Americans.  His refusal of the oil pipeline deal with Canada is the latest example of his personal intervention to block progress.

We need to add that his own Democrat Party under former Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to allow anything to get done exept his Obama Care legislation which consumed the energy of the Congress totally during his first two years.  The Democrats refused to propose a Budget. They refused  to hold examination hearings of  any (there actually were a few) appointments by Obama. They tabled (a form of refusal to talk about something) any legislation that might take time away from the Obama Agenda.  All of the Democrat actions in the Congress have been to block anything Republican and that was the cause of Congressional gridlock.  I remember Greta Van Sustern asking Rep. Paul Ryan if Speaker Pelosi ever talked to him or any other Republican during her term. His answer was a blunt, “…No she does not speak with us, only very occasionally through intermediaries and the public press conference…”

Then and now, we also need to remember the Senate Majority leader Harry Reid’s weekly refrain of “Dead on Arrival” for every piece of Republican sponsored legislation sent to him by the House of Representatives.

Add it up.  Democrat Nancy Pelosi does not even bother to talk to the Republicans. Democrat Harry Reid says about their proposals, ” Dead on Arrival.”  And President Obama says about their legislative agenda, “I’ll veto it.”  So, who is responsible for such poor relations with Congress?  Surely, any alert person can add many more public statements by Democrat leaders which indicate that the Republicans had better do it the Democrat way or forget about getting anything done.  By the way, I think the Pelosi House of Reps did not propose or pass any budget during her term.  Also, I think that it is now over nine hundred days since the Democrats in the Senate have proposed a budget.

President Obama would do much better for the nation if he would stop partying, stop golfing, stop B Balling, stop vacationing, and stay home with the kids.  Maybe then he could get some office work done and stop leaving the running of the government to Valerie Jarrett.

New Candidates for Public Office

… Subject: Charley Reese’s final column for the Orlando Sentinel… Who do you think is really responsible for the acknowledged 14.3 trillion deficit? A very interesting column.. It is a Congress bashing indictment that seems to exonerate the President but it is a good read to see how some people are willing to set the blame on one side and let the other side get away with irresponsibility.  You can find the entire article online.  I use only a portion of it for be=revity and because I think this portion reflects the context I want to address in this blog.

…”Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.

This might be funny if it weren’t so true. Be sure to read all the way to the end: Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table, At which he’s fed. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries Tax his tears. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his ass. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won’t be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He’s good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he’s laid… Put these words Upon his tomb, ‘Taxes drove me to my doom…’ When he’s gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply The inheritance tax. Accounts Receivable Tax Building Permit Tax CDL license Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Dog License Tax Excise Taxes Federal Income Tax Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA) Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Fuel Permit Tax Gasoline Tax (currently 44.75 cents per gallon) Gross Receipts Tax Hunting License Tax Inheritance Tax Inventory Tax IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax) Liquor Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Personal Property Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Service Charge Tax Social Security Tax Road Usage Tax Recreational Vehicle Tax Sales Tax School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Telephone Federal Excise Tax Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax Telephone Federal, State and Local Surcharge Taxes Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax Telephone Recurring and Nonrecurring Charges Tax Telephone State and Local Tax Telephone Usage Charge Tax Utility Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Watercraft Registration Tax Well Permit Tax Workers Compensation Tax STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.. What in the heck happened? Can you spell ‘politicians?’ I hope this goes around THE USA at least 545 times!!! YOU can help it get there!!! GO AHEAD. . . BE AN AMERICAN!!! BTW: since they are the problem, THEY will NOT be the ones to fix the problem, it has to come from “we the people” Blessings, ”

I agree with the sentiment but a rant and rage against all politicians is meaningless.  They are there and they are there to stay.  But we do not need to have the same ones year in and year out.  We the people need to get better informed about what the politicians are actually doing.  Forget what they are saying…all of that is rhetoric.  Rather, get from the Internet the voting records of your Senator and your Congressman and hold them accountable and if they do not get it straight, then campaign against them and seek to elect somebody else.  This writer is in New Jersey.  It is a strong Labor Union State and the Labor Unions spend the automatically deducted Union dues in order to conduct massive multi million dollar campaigns to keep the pro union politicians in office.  Mine are Frank Lautenberg, a man who is over seventy-five and has fifty million dollars in personal wealth.  Like Bloomberg he could buy the office (shame) with his own money.  But he doesn’t need to do that, he just needs the union bosses to pay, and they do. Frank can do whatever he wants in the US Senate and he does, as long as the Union bosses agree.  We also have Senator Menendez, who always acknowledges your letters but quickly tells you that you are wrong and then proposes to you the Union Boss line of thinking.  I do not believe that either Senator has ever been bi partisan, ever crossed the line to vote with the other guy.  Their voting record reads like a Harry Reid or Obama play book…if some legislation is initiated by Republicans it is dead on arrival or vetoed in Senate committee.  Add to them Steve Rothman another Democrat with bona Fides equaling above two.  SO WHAT?  This is what.  If you agree with the above article then get going to elect Congressmen and Senators who are more reflective of what you think should be done in America.  Dump the politicians controlled by the Union Bosses.  Dump the fifty million dollar Senator who wants to tax you because you make over 250,000 dollars income.  Stop Obama from destroying Social Security by “lowering” the one source of its income, namely the Social Security tax.

What else can you do?  Get into the Primary elections in your State and if there are no primaries get one going.  What will this do?  A primary is a direct challenge to the good old boy cronyism of the local political parties, both Republican and Democrat.  In my NJ District the Democrat party just keeps putting up those in office (obviously) and the Republicans run old boy, back room cronies who don’t stand a chance of election because they are selected just to fill the ballot and not as real possible problem solvers for the people.  Sarah Palin and Mark Levin the Tea Party movement are the big hope right now for the Primary process.  I do not mean as candidates but as educators and encouragers of the local political hopefuls.   Palin and the tea party have the knowledge and they have gained the organizational skill to run new and unknown candidates against the political hacks and Union lackeys and entrenched office holders.  We don’t need to erase the institutions of government, we need to get involved and put the right people into government.

Paul Ryan is the Leader America Needs

http://www.npr.org/2011/08/18/139737992/weekly-standard-paul-ryans-presidential-potential?ft=1&f=1057

We need a leader and Representative Paul Ryan is the man of the hour.  He understands economics.  He also understands the economics needed to get the USA back into play as the greatest economy in the world.  This will not only help America, it will help the world.  Yes, I am bold enough to say that a Paul Ryan Presidency will make the world a better place.

He is also a very good communicator and what he tells you is the truth.  Today we have a lot of double speak, mis-speak and down right lies.  We also have a huge amount of political theater by the ” I will veto it Obama”  and the “dead on arrival Reid.”  We need Paul Ryan because he has sound financial ideas, these ideas are part of an all encompassing plan, and if we implement the plan we will stop this double dip recession, save medicare and Social Security and put America back to work on the road to prosperity.

Paul Ryan loves America.  He is a proud citizen of our nation and he has served in our Congress with dignity and integrity.  There is little  likelihood that like Obama, Ryan would appoint people to his cabinet who, like the President, do not love America .

The names of the people who are endorsing a Ryan bid for the White House show that he would unite and strengthen the Republican party, (see names in the article).  It also indicates that Congressman Ryan enjoys across the spectrum political support.

Although I cannot promise it, I also believe that if Paul Ryan wins the nomination from Mitt Romney, that Governor Romney will commit his strong  campaign force behind a Ryan drive for the election.

Paul Ryan is a good campaigner,  and will be a match for Obama.  Paul’s love for the truth will not allow Paul’s respect for the institution of the Presidency to limit him as he refutes the smear campaign certain to be launched against him by the Obama White House.

In every area and according to every criteria, a Paul Ryan Presidency will be very good for America.  He is the leader we need.

Debt Crisis says that America is Alive and Well

http://news.yahoo.com/stab-debt-limit-deal-avert-us-default-204034740.html

Hooray, this article is not about dysfunction, it is not about childish games, it is not even about mere politics…rather it is about America and the indicators signal that the USA is very much alive and very healthy…yes, very healthy indeed!

All of this activity indicates that our people and our legislators and our leaders really do care about America.  However, this writer still wonders about President Obama, since I see that his posturing and pontificating has left Mitch Mc Connell saying that Obama needs to finally indicate what he WILL sign and we are in the game.  That is cynical on the President’s part and leaves him with just too, yes, too much power.

But today is a glorious day for America.  It is because our legislators actually DO care about America.  All of the political theater is a good thing.  It means people are willing not to shout each other down but to demonstrate according to LAW that one side is not able to bully and cripple the other side.  That is good for America.

Today is a glorious day for America because (as I address in a previous blog) The House Republicans were not betrayed by their Speaker.  Instead, they were given their fair chance to thrown a legal punch at the other side.  hooray for Politics because if one side feels helpless and disenfranchised then all is lost.

It may seem that all of this political theater is meaningless.  But, I encourage you to see it as the most meaningful thing that we could ever be doing.  How is that? It is because both sides are passionate.  That is a good thing.  Both sides believe they are right for America.  That is a good thing.  Both sides have ways to destroy the other side.  And although they do a lot of dodging and weaving and feinting and jabbing, yet, they ULTIMATELY do not really want to destroy each other.  And that is a very good thing!!

But there is another.  He sits in a house called white and he wags his finger, and he preaches and he pontificates but has shown himself to be vacuous and duplicitous.  And while the earnest partisans fight, he schemes and maneuvers and plans his next nefarious move.  He does not love the game. He does not love the nation,  He cares only about his own agenda and that agenda, surprisingly, may be to destroy the very nation over which he presides.  Why destroy it?  Because he does not love it.

Boehner Needs to worry about Betraying Fellow Republicans

http://news.yahoo.com/boehner-obama-relationship-tested-debt-fight-075022132.html

The way this debt deal is going down, John Boehner needs to worry about holding on to his Speaker position.  Frankly, he shouldn’t worry at all about Obama.  I am sure Obama doesn’t worry about him.

But there is a betrayal in the making and it involves old line Careerist Republicans like Boehner who seems intend on enforcing old school ways of doing business in the Congress. This old school way of thinking includes the continued use of patronage politics, strong-arm tactics, coercion, and political blackmail.  ( Hey that is what they all do behind the closed doors of the Whip with the full approval of the Speaker.) Such tactics have been rumored to have been used against Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, namely, that the Party might try to carve up his district in such a way as to cause him to “automatically” lose the next election.

The newly elected Representatives, many who won with strong Tea Party Movement backing, have promised to change this old school way into a more transparent, open, straight forward system of intellectual integrity, political conviction, and solidity ethical conduct between colleague and not between Speaker loyalists and others.

The game plan for the Reid Boehner bill is to have this bill written in such a way so that it will be acceptable to the whole block of House Democrats who will ally with Boehner loyalists and pass a bill that does not need any support from newly elected conservative Representatives.  In effect such an action is a cynical betrayal of the good faith and courage of the newly elected Representatives who finally agreed reluctantly to vote “yes” to a bill they did not want.

By showing the newly elected House members that they are not needed and are not effective against a coalition of old line House and Senate Careerists like Boehner and Reid, the action alienates the freshmen and forces them to choose obedience to Boehner, or continued political ostracism.  No matter, because the betrayal will have occurred and the Representatives will get their first injection of old line, old school cynicism and duplicity.  An injection that could prove fatal to their idealism and lethal to the future of the Republic.

A solution?  The freshmen need to work hard to keep their base and to stay on in Congress.  This writer believes that many of the brightest and the best are not careerists and will choose not to run again if they feel that their efforts are doomed to inevitable failure.  Their loss may insure continued longevity to Reid and Boehner but it will also guarantee to intellectually bankrupt the Republican party.

Secondly, if they can see their way to continue the fight for Conservative principles, they will need to develop a strategy for replacing the Speaker and his palace guards.  Boehner as a person, a citizen, and a patriot is not the issue. Rather, it is old line careerism and old school political practices that must be replaced by ways that more effectively reflect the mind, will and heart of the electorate.

The Tea Party Movement (TPM) may be hated.  But who hates what is not important?  It may be vilified by the President and Senator Reid and their supporters in the politically motivated press.  But who bothers to try to destroy something that is not meaningful and effective?  There may be setbacks, and maybe some may not regard the Boehner-Reid bill as a betrayal.  Nonetheless, the battle line between the old war horse careerist politicians and the newly elected Representatives is being drawn as we watch.  Actually, the first battles have already been fought and it looks like a draw.  But do not think that the so called “veteran” members of Congress are not scheming to disarm what they see as a threat to their longevity and power.

Why Bother Trying When Obama and Reid are Going to kill it.

“The Republican legislation, sharply criticized by President Barack Obama, faces certain death in the Democratic-controlled Senate, where all Democrats have vowed to vote against it later on Friday.”  This is a quote from a longer article by Associated Press on the Internet

Again and again this writer is amazed that the American people blame the Republicans for our debt problems.  They are the only ones working very hard to solve the problems.  And if my readers will be even a little fair minded, I am sure that you would agree that it seems meaningless to work hard to propose a solution in the face of withering criticism from President Obama with a promise of a veto and confronted by the constant refrain of “dead on arrival” by Senator Reid.

It is especially galling when both Obama and Reid keep getting on TV and saying compromise, compromise, compromise.  But then go on to tell the press that they will do everything they can to destroy whatever it is that the Republicans propose.  Actually, although I don’t like to say it, it seems to me that President Obama and Harry Reid are plain liars.  They do not care about a solution, they care about their own particular solution.  They don’t care what the House of Representatives want they only care about what the Democrats want.

How many Democrats in the house even tried to help pass the Boehner bill?  And Harry Reid has already said that every single Democrat Senator will vote to kill the Boehner bill as soon as it is presented in the Senate.  And then we read that it is all the fault of the Republicans!! Come on, Harriet!! At least the freshmen Republicans and Conservatives stood up for their principles and did not abandon their election promises.  It seems that every single one of the Democrat Senators campaigned on one issue and it is the big issue for them, namely, defeat and destroy the Republicans- to hell with the nation.  Shame on them.
