Time for change in the White house

This blog entry is a little lighter side viewpoint. Its about the people we see in our politics. This writer is tired of the same faces and the same names and the sames families. It’s time we bring fresh new talent into our White House.
Let me be very quick to say that this is not a criticism of the family of the current occupants of the White House. Socially, culturally, and really, they are just fine. And let me immediately say this has nothing to do with the children of our President. Like the Obama family, this writer would protect and defend his children against one and all. Yes, the kids are just fine.
During the Democrat convention, we saw the same old faces, the same tired expressions, the same families and names and all of the old celebrities and that old stuff. After all, the Clinton family has already occupied the White House for eight years and if we include Hilary as Secretary of States, and although she spend almost all of that time out of the country, we could say the Clintons have been at the White House for twelve years. And what was the chant I heard before, “No more Bushes!!” So, maybe we can chant no more Clintons.
As I said, this is intended as a lighter side blog. And in that spirit, I will tell you that I enjoyed looking at the Trump family. They are both a beautiful and a handsome family. They are new and they are different. And yes, I have seen the photos published by the New York Post and do not expect such to be true at the White House.
But it is time for a change of scenery. Time for new faces and refreshing personalities. Yes, even time for a little more pizzazz. Maybe, that is not enough reason to vote for a President. But, it is an interesting and delightful effect of the vote. So, although it probably shouldn’t be your reason to vote for Trump. Well, it can be a consideration.
Hope this brought you a smile.

Trumps Mexico Visit a Success.

The invitation of Pres. Nieto to invite Donald Trump for a personal meeting was a bold move of leadership and friendship. He told the world that Mexico is a free and independent nation and that as a people, they are fiends to the USA. His invitation was that of a neighbor to a neighbor.
Donald Trump accepted the invitation and as a good neighbor he went to Mexico. He did not stay in the USA and declare that the representative of Mexico come to him. Rather, he saw an opportunity for friendly and frank discussions with the leadership of Mexico. Like all things “Donald” he was quick to consult his advisors, quick to deliberate, and quick to make the appropriate decision. That alone, improved our relations with Mexico in the same way it would in a neighborhood.
There are some that say that Mr. Trump was not bold, not strong and that he softened his position about American immigration laws and their enforcement. Let’s get real. Mr. Trump was honored by the Mexican government by the invitation. He was gracious in acceptance. Mr. Trump was treated with respect by the President of Mexico. Donald returned that respect with respect. The President of Mexico represented the good will of the Mexican people and for his part, candidate Trump, represented the good will of the American people. There was nothing to be gained by being a rude guest.
In reading the Yahoo and Google commentaries this author was distressed at the headlines, Like, “Trump goes to Mexico because he is losing.” Well, well. It would seem that the google writers in Washington and the Yahoo writers in Chicago cannot get out of their anti Trump straight jackets. Not surprising, really, since the Google and Yahoo reporters are consistent with the print press reporters in looking for every way to discredit Mr Trump, while elevating Mrs. Clinton.
Rightly, Candidate Trump acted with dignity and restraint as he met with the President of Mexico. It is not surprising that he did so. As the head of Trump companies, Mr. Trump has met with the leaders of very powerful companies, unions, and nations. He has a long experience with high level diplomacy and negotiations in the making of the Trump enterprise worldwide. He has been successful in that area, he will be successful as President of the USA.

Should Trump Go To Mexico?

There are many people who think that if Donald Trump is elected President of the USA, he will deport up to eleven million illegal immigrants back to Mexico. This had caused hysteria on the Left and is much used by the Hilary campaign. Is it really possible for a President Trump to order an immediate deportation of eleven million people? No it is not! But it is possible for a President Trump to uphold and enforce the immigration laws of the USA.
It is silly to think that Mr. Trump’s position is an immediate roundup of illegal immigrants. Such a action would require a massive and expensive effort. It could only be done by a military force. Think about it!  Eleven million is a lot of people. So, let the far right be a little more sensible and sophisticated and not imagine that such a campaign statement could be actualized by a real time round up and deportation of eleven million people. Likewise, let the hysterical liberal Left stop the screaming and over reaction. Let the liberal left stop the race baiting and the incendiary shouting of racist, bigot and the similar reprehensible slurs.
Let’s instead begin with a question. How did we get to a place where there are eleven million illegal immigrant in the USA?  It came from lax law enforcement on the federal level. It came from the massive numbers of south of the border people entering the USA across its one thousand mile southern border. It came from sympathetic popular thinking that the immigrants were poor and down trodden people who wanted a better life, loved the USA, and like our pilgrim ancestors, were fleeing oppression. But is this the actual image of the modern day southern border immigrant?  The answer is too long for this blog, so I will let the reader give the answer.
Whatever, you answered, the fact is that over time, a time before Donald Trump as candidate, there evolved a massive influx of people who did not want to be American citizens, preferring to retain their language, culture and national affiliation as Mexican, or South American, while living in the USA illegally. These people, overwhelming the social services of many border States, were also given free education for their children, food stamps, and even cash welfare payments. Indeed, many advanced economically, learning English as a second language and getting a job. However, they did not become citizens and the pressure of their numbers forced changes in the USA that were unanticipated and many would say were unwanted.
Why is this a problem for people? All USA citizens are children if immigrants. (Some would exempt the American Indians, but they too migrated from Northern Asia.) It is a problem because of the changes to American social culture that eleven million people of Spanish language have forced upon American society. The key word is “forced” because it is a result of massive illegal action and persistent government laziness that has produced it                                                                                                                                                                       And now people are hearing talk of the importation of one hundred thousand Muslim immigrants by the Obama government. Please note, that this author is calling the southern border immigrants by culture and nationality. It is not common to call them eleven million Roman Catholics. However, the importing of a possible one hundred thousand South West Asian immigrants is according to their own designation, namely, Muslim. This self designation is significant because of its association by the immigrants as to who they are and who they intend to remain. As the southern border immigrants forced an acceptance of Spanish upon the whole nation, so the Muslim immigrants would force acceptance of Muslim Sharia law upon the nation.
Mr. Trump is the only candidate willing to assert that the answer to the continued immigration crisis is a simple assertion that immigrants must become citizens of the USA and that they must accept the laws of the USA as supreme. Of necessity, this applies to those already here illegally, and to those being imported by the Obama administration. How can this be done? Simply by faithfulness to already existing US laws and a consistent and intentional enforcement of the laws. This is nothing new. If you have ever been to Ellis Island, in New York harbor, you realize that our ancestors were closely examined by the government, were registered, and those who were With-Out-Papers were investigated and given temporary residency. These temporary residents were allowed entry, taught English and US law, went to citizenship classes and eventually became US citizens.
The force of Mr. Trump’s campaign rhetoric is to focus a pin point laser upon the reality of USA immigration policy. His intention is to solve it. He is a problem solver. Some would said he is the best hope the nation has to solve this and many other problems that face the USA. This author agrees with that assessment. I have read his book, “The Art of the Deal”. It is not the whole of his credo, but in his book, Donald Trump shares a philosophy of winning by creative deal making. It is a philosophy he will bring to the Presidency. It will be a guiding principle to his compassionate and visionary solution to a problem that many believe to be unsolvable. But Donald Trump has surprised his critics before. He will surprise them again.

Trump Does Not Hate Hilary

Many of those who oppose Trump also oppose the people who voted for Trump in the primaries. They are against regular, hard working American citizens who got out and went to the polls and voted for Donald Trump. These antagonists to Trump say that the people who voted for Trump are ignorant, or misinformed, or low information voters, or just bigots, racists, or whites who have been left behind, or Uncle Tom Blacks. The anti Trump people, who are both Democrat and Republican, are themselves arrogant snobs, and elitists, who look down on so called “working class” or so called “blue collar” people. They are the problem and not the solution. They are the cause and not the remedy. They are the disease and not the cure. They are repugnant and must be rejected.
The Trump revolution is real. It includes a host of real people who have real lives, and real jobs, and real families and do not live on Park Avenue, New York, or the various haunts of the rich and powerful. And it is their realness that is swelling in power as it rises up to overwhelm and utterly reject the arrogant pride of the anti Trump forces. It is a rising tide of power that will drown the prideful voices of the privileged and smother them under an overwhelming vote of popular affirmation for Donald J. Trump and his intentional preference for the regular and the ordinary and the citizens of America.
This is a real revolution. As of now, it is a political revolution. It is the last desperate gasp of hope by a long suppressed silent majority. It is their last desperate faith in a system that has been corrupted and rigged against them. And they are the ones, the so called clueless taxpayers, who are arrogantly expected to pay for it,-they are the ones who are still hope filled by one man, Donald J. Trump–a billionaire, who like a champion, has entered the arena and volunteered to fight for their cause.
If you, my friend, are reading this, I ask you to vote for Mr. Trump. If you are indeed a friend, and I acknowledge that assertion to be a bold one, nonetheless, if you are a friend, I ask you to share the hope filled and faith filled and reality filled message of Donald Trump. American is supposed to be great. I really believe that is our destiny. Not as a matter of undue pride, but as a humble acceptance of the burden of greatness.
Friends, this writer is a Christian. I am not afraid nor am I ashamed of it. However, I accept and acknowledge that there are Jews, and Hindus, and witch-ans and Confucians, and Shinto-ans, and many other good people of God’s Spirit who are anxious about our America. Trump has no exclusive claim on them nor they on him. But please allow me to assert, that he, Donald J. Trump, and he alone, is standing forward and bravely accepting the derision of those who mock and laugh and deride our faiths, and mock us as they say that we “cling to our guns and our Bibles”.
The author of this article has been involved in political and social revolution before. These have failed. Why? Because good people, people who said that they were on our side, failed to follow through. Your author is afraid of the same result, but I am asking you not to accept the same result–failure. My heart and soul cry out to you to rise up and to go out and to vote for a successful political revolution. Vote for Trump. Your vote is important. If you vote, it will change America for the better. It will change America forever.

Trump is a Leader and Not a Politician

Much is made about Trump not being politically expert. Those who oppose him, like the fifty former Republican operatives of previous administrations, claim that he is not like them. Therefore, he is not qualified to be President. This is funny because they think that being like them is a asset. It amazes this writer that they do not understand that it is precisely because Donald J. Trump is not like them that millions of Americans have joined the New American Revolution and made Trump their voice. The failed programs and political and economic policies of the past are being rejected by America. We want a business man to be our national Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Commander in Chief, (President). In Donald Trump we have even more, we have a very successful businessman, an experienced CEO and a very qualified CFO.

And as far as Commander In Chief, we have someone who understands the enormous military power of the USA.Donald Trump appreciates the great value of the life of every Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guard member. He will never waste their lives on foreign soil for mere political reasons. He will never sacrifice, needlessly, the lives of our CIA, FBI, or Ambassadors, like Obama and Hilary did in Benghazi. Donald Trump regards our military with profound respect.

This writer has a dear friend in the Security Services of the USA and he tells me that unlike Hilary, who regards security personnel with disdain, Donald Trump treats his federal protectors with very deep respect and appreciation. He thanks them regularly, he is interested in their lives, their life stories and their families. He is cooperative and always tells them that he does not want to act in any way to compromise them or their safety. They say of him that he has all the qualities and personal attitudes of a leader and not merely a politician. Donald Trump is not a politician. He is the leader America needs and the Leader America wants.

Paul Ryan is Needed as Speaker

Paul Ryan is a senior Congressman who is Republican and Speaker of the House of Representatives. This is very important for the success of the Trump revolution. Speaker Ryan is experienced in creating legislation, in putting forward cohesive budgets, and in helping the people of his Janesville, Wisconsin, district play a very big role in guiding the nation. He is being threatened by outsiders like former Governor Sarah Palin and a host of other enemies who want to use the primary process to deny him a spot on the Republican ballot in November. The loss of Speaker Ryan to the nation, the Congress and the people of Janesville district would be a very big mistake.

If Mr. Ryan is denied the Republican spot in the primary, his challenger will have unseated a Speaker of the House of Representatives without even having to win the general election. That means that Nehlen and his small group of discontented people will have, with a mere fraction of eligible voters, denied the talents of Congressman Ryan to all of us. A vote against Ryan is a vote against the New American Political Revolution and its Voice, Mr. Donald J. Trump. A vote against Ryan is also a suicide vote by the people of Janesville because it will be a wholesale give away of their power to help guide the nation during either a Trump or Hilary Presidency.

Remember, that if Congressman Paul Ryan is defeated in the primary by this obscure newcomer, then all is lost. Mr. Nehlen will not be the Speaker. He will merely be a new freshman congressman without seniority, chairmanships, committee position or the clout that goes with being a senior among your peers. The cost for the ideological defeat of Paul Ryan is far too great. Please remember, also, that his challenger must go on to win the election which is not a sure thing, so the net result could be a loss of the Speakership, the loss of senior committee chairmanships, and the loss of the seat itself to a Democrat. And for all of the people of Janesville district, Republican and Democrat, the loss of Paul Ryan would relegate them to obscurity as just another small town in the vast Wisconsin landscape.

Much is being made of Mr. Ryan and Mr Trump not agreeing. Good! Disagreement is good! We definitely do not want the Obama/Clinton robots who don’t even dare to disagree with them. We want a strong Speaker Ryan standing tall alongside a strong President Trump confident in their strengths and equally confident that they can agree to disagree without fear of reprisal. Such a relationship of strength is good for our Republic and good for the future of our freedom. In fact, such strength and respect is a key ingredient of the New American Political Revolution being spearheaded by Republican Donald Trump.

Paul Ryan gets things done. During his many years in Congress he has gained the respect of everyone who meets him. They do not all agree, but to have the respect of those with whom you openly disagree is a testament to Paul’s integrity , and the honesty of his commitment to serve as a doer and not just a talker. Paul Ryan knows what he is doing. He is a Congressman of principle. The key principle is Paul’s dedication to the Constitution and its provision for the separation of powers between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government. He is also a proponent of limiting the power of the Federal government because the Constitution provides for fifty state governments which are sovereign in their locality. Because Paul Ryan has a comprehensive and inclusive philosophy of government, many who claim pure Conservative or pure liberal credentials see him as unworthy of their support. Frankly, many of these people actually hate him and call him names like RINO and traitor and Judas and the like. Sad for them and sad that they hate. (RINO means Republican In Name Only.) But America does not need a Speaker who is so purely ideological that he cannot work with others, cannot respect differences of opinion and cannot make a deal and get the job done.

If anyone should know about the art of the deal, it is candidate Donald J. Trump. He based his successful business career upon it. It is the title of one of his books. He does it better than anyone else. That is why the endorsement of Mr. Ryan by Mike Pence is a very big deal. It says that the non endorsement of Mr. Trump should not be considered a signal to defeat Speaker Ryan. Rather, the wholehearted endorsement of Mr. Ryan by Mike Pence is a signal to all who care about the New American Revolution that they should vote for Ryan and not against him. Remember Pence will be chairman of the Senate and will be working very closely with Speaker Ryan for the implementation of the programs that will make America great again.

Rand Paul’s Speech to Senators was Courageous

Senator Rand Paul stood up in the Senate and addressed his fellow Senators to not allow the continuation of irresponsible spending. He pointedly used charts to show graphically how the Continuing Resolution by the Senate will allow spending to foolishly increase. His speech was informed, bold, accurate, and courageous. It was a well researched speech that used facts and figures to state his case for the American people. He used graphs and charts as visual aids so that people could see as well as hear the facts. Unlike others, Senator Paul was not simplistic, or shrill in his speech. He did not embarrass the American people or the Senators by using accusations sullying the character of his fellow Senators. He boldly spoke to them in person. He boldly asked them to change their minds and vote down the Continuing Resolution. He was accurate in his statements that the American people expect their Senators to made the tough and right decisions to stop runaway federal spending. And he was courageous because he stood up personally on the floor of the Senate chamber in the US Capitol and went on the record explaining why he was voting against the Continuing Resolution.

Mr. Donald Trump, also a candidate running for the Republican nomination, has stated that Senator Paul and others should drop out of the race for the nomination. This writer thinks of it as Mr. Trump’s issuing a “you’re Fired” to Senator Paul. One thing, all of the candidates are running for the Republican nomination. We are not even to the election year contest. There is no reason for Senator Paul or anyone else to drop out until the Republican party has chosen its nominee. This will be done through the votes of registered Republicans at the State level and through the groups called Caucuses. It should not be done by news polls, media polls, conservation talk show hosts, or the TV network debate system. It is not their prerogative to arbitrarily decide for the voters who they will be allowed to nominate. Members of each party reserve that prerogative for themselves.

Senator Rand Paul is a reasoned political personality who has been elected and has served with honor and distinction in the US Senate. His campaign staff is professional and he has raised enough money to pay for that staff and their expertise. Unlike Mr. Trump, Senator Paul is not a billionaire. He has money, indeed, from his practice of Physician. And his fiscal responsibility is a legend. He has returned sizable amounts of money to the federal government from his Senate operations budget. This he has done each year and this year it amounted to a refund TO the federal government of over one million dollars. In every way Senator Rand Paul is distinguished by his disciplined, reasoned, informed, bold and courageous programs to help America get better.

What Happened to Ross Perot?

There was a man named Ross Perot. Remember him? He was very much like Mr. Donald Trump.  He was a  business man. He was a billionaire. Both of them ran for President. What was Perot’s attractiveness? Perot gave expression to the fear and anxiety of the middle class of his time.
In his book titled, They Only Look Dead,  E.J. Dionne Jr. (1996) called those attracted to Ross Perot the “Anxious Middle”. In a very fine chapter about the Politics of the Anxious Middle,  Mr. Dionne wrote, (p.67)

The Anxious Middle set the terms for the 1992 and 1994 elections. It destroyed a Republican presidential coalition that seemed invulnerable only a few years earlier. It made Ross Perot possible, ended George (H.W) Bush’s political career, sent Bill Clinton to the White House – and rebuked Clinton and helped make Newt Gingrich one of the central figures of American politics. Perot spoke instinctively of the American Middle. Bush never understood it. Clinton saw it coming long before most politicians, shaped his campaign to respond to its concerns – and then confronted its ire after only two years in office. Gingrich sought his own radical language to speak to its anxieties

(p. 72) Almost as important as Clinton’s candidacy, of course, was Ross Perot’s, and his rise proved to be an essential component of Clinton’s victory.  In the spring of 1992, as discontent against Bush was growing, Perot’s sudden availability as a candidate shook loose millions of previously Republican voters.  Before he dropped out of the contest, Perot had risen to first in the polls and had driven Bush down to about a third of the potential vote.  In his withdrawal statement in July – in the midst of the Democratic National Convention – Perot gave Clinton a large boost when he explained that his candidacy might no longer be needed , “now that the Democratic Party has revitalized itself.”  Clinton soared in the polls.

Can we call the politics of Mr. Trump an appeal to the feelings of the Angry Middle?  His confrontational style, his harsh criticisms, his stand against media and news reporters, his comments to Megan Kelly at the debate, and his repeated statements of anger and frustration place him as their spokesperson.  Many of his supporters praise his fearless engagement with and rebuttal of the news reporters.  They like when he gives simple answers to, for instance, the immigration problem.  They admire that he is willing to say to anyone who disagrees with him, “you’re Fired.”

But as Mr. Dionne highlights, Ross Perot voluntarily left the race and abandoned his supporters.  He threw his support to Clinton.  He said that his candidacy was no longer needed now that the Democratic party was revived.  Was that it?  Did Perot play the American voters for fools?  Did he care about the voter’s or only about the revitalization of the Democrats?  Was he really just a rich old man who hated Bush and would do whatever he could to insure that Clinton won?  However you might feel about that analysis, the fact remains that Perot’s candidacy was phony and he never really cared about the “Anxious Middle.”  He cared about himself, the Clinton’s and the Democrat Party.

The parallels between Trump and Perot are startling.  Trump’s campaign is to feared because like Perot’s, Trump’s billionaire financing, his bitter anger at the press and media, and his threats of reprisal against those with whom he disagrees are enjoying the same kind of support that sent Perot to number one.  Plus, there is already talk among people that if Trump is not on the ballot, millions of voters will opt to stay home on Election Day.  Such an action of silent protest will throw the election to Mrs. Clinton and the voter’s will have been played twice the fool.

Why Donald Trump?

Why is so much attention being focused on Mr. Donald Trump? The other candidates are barely getting any press coverage. It is not because they do not have something to say. It is not because they do not have programs and solutions to offer. It is not because they do not have excellent campaign organizations. It is because the press and the major media are giving Mr. Trump so much coverage. Why do they do this? Mr. Trump is a flashy candidate who they find entertaining and therefore as someone who will help them sell their news. The other candidates with more political knowledge and experience are forced out of the news by the antics of the often clownish antics of Mr. Trump. That is too bad. It would be an injustice to America to promote one political upstart just because he is entertaining while ignoring the others who may have things of more substance and importance to contribute.
